If you have had tests done that were requested by the surgery (for example, blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, ultrasound scans), it usually takes 1 week for us to receive the results of this. Some tests may take longer.
If we receive your result and it is abnormal, we will contact you. You may receive a letter, text message or be offered a routine or urgent telephone appointment depending on the result.
If the result is normal, or no further action is required from the test result, we will not usually contact you.
If you do not hear from us but wish to find out the result of your test, you may phone the surgery to request this.
If you wish to discuss your test results with a clinician, please submit an e-consult requesting an appointment for this, or speak to our reception team regarding this. Submit a request.
If your test was not requested by the surgery (for example, a test done in A&E, a test requested by your hospital team, a test requested by a private doctor) we will not have access to these results. Please contact the team who requested the test to discuss your results with them.
