ChatDoc is replacing AccuRx on 1st of May 2025.
What is it?
You will now be able to communicate with the practice on WhatsApp. There is no need to download any external apps, just save the surgeries number as a contact and start a chat with us as usual.
A few automated questions by our friendly chat bot will ensure your message ends up with the right member of staff at the surgery.
Can I use it to book an appointment?
Every clinical patient query is triaged by a clinician. This may be a doctor, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or a clinical pharmacist who will decide when your appointment is booked.
If both parties agree that an appointment is not required, medical advice and prescriptions for minor acute medical conditions can be given via chat.
Whereas emergency and same day appointments are decided by the doctor on call on the day.
Appointments can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance for routine appointment and test results.
Individuals who cannot access the service are free to call our reception desk who will take the details of the query and submit it to our team who will communicate back via call.
What else can I do?
Chatdoc is another form of communication between the surgery and our patients. Our care co-ordinators can help advice you and guide you with your non clinical queries whilst also passing any clinical concerns to a healthcare professional.
As well as booking appointments, you can bypass calling our phone lines for queries such as
- Repeat prescriptions/medication reviews
- Sick note requests/continuations
- Test results
- Referrals
- General questions and concerns
- Registering as a new patient.
