Clinics

Baby Clinics

Our health visitors are available to give advice on child care. They also run two weekly clinics at the surgery: Monday from 2.00pm until 3.00pm by appointments only and Thursday between 01.30pm until 3.30pm. No appointment is necessary for the Thursday clinic - just bring your baby along. The practice nurse is also available during these times for vaccinations by appointment on 020 8304 8334.

Family Planning Clinic

The practice offers a full range of family planning care and advice, including the fitting of diaphragms (caps), coils (IUCDs) and the morning after pill (within 72 hours of intercourse). The family planning clinic is held on Thursday afternoons by a female doctor with practice nurse Maureen O'Sullivan and is by appointment only. This, like all services provided by the practice, is completely confidential. All the doctors are also happy to provide contraceptive advice in their normal surgeries.

Well Person

These clinics are run by the practice nurse. They offer a health 'MOT' which is particularly aimed at helping to reduce the risks of heart disease. The clinic is aimed at anybody aged 20 to 75. The nurse will check on your current state of health by measuring your height, weight and blood pressure and testing your urine. Where appropriate she will send you for a blood test blood to check your cholesterol level. She will then give you advice on how to reduce your risks of developing disease - she can also offer help to lose weight and give up smoking.

Well Woman

This is held each week by a female practice nurse. Women who are due to have a cervical smear will be invited to attend, but all female patients can self refer by making an appointment at reception. A general health check will be carried out regarding specific issues relating to female health. Our nurses do not routinely carry out breast examinations but will teach women self-examination techniques.

Asthma Clinic

Increasing numbers of people of all ages are suffering from asthma. Your doctor will make the initial diagnosis and explain your treatment. Our specially trained practice nurses will then ensure that the treatment is effective by checking inhaler techniques and measuring lung function regularly, referring to your doctor if necessary.

Diabetic Clinic

This clinic is held weekly for the care of non-insulin dependent diabetics. Patients are reviewed on a recall system and are invited to attend. Diabetics of all ages are encouraged to attend. Appointments are by direct referral from your doctor. other clinics
